There is an US in JESUS!

There is an US in JESUS!

You've probably heard the saying, "There is no 'I' in team." While that reminds us that teamwork requires selflessness, there is an even greater truth for followers of Christ. That is there is "Us" in Jesus. Jesus never intended for His people to walk alone. From the very beginning of His ministry, He called disciples, not just one follower, but a community. He sent them out in pairs, taught them together, prayed for their unity, and established the Church as one body with many members. God's plan has always been "us," not "me” or “I”. In today's world, independence is often celebrated. We are encouraged to rely on ourselves, build our own success, and protect our own interests. But the Kingdom of God operates differently. Jesus calls us to lay down our pride, serve one another, and recognize that every believer has a unique role to play. The Apostle Paul paints a beautiful picture in 1 Corinthians 12. The Church is compared to a human body. An eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you." Neither can the foot decide it no longer belongs because it isn't the hand. Every part matters. Every gift has value. Every believer contributes to the mission. This truth extends beyond the walls of our church. Whether in your family, workplace, ministry, or community, God calls us to pursue unity over division and cooperation over competition. The strongest teams are not made up of the most talented individuals but of people who are committed to one another and to a shared purpose. Jesus Himself modeled this perfectly. Though He was Lord of all, He washed His disciples' feet. He demonstrated that true leadership begins with humble service. When each of us chooses humility instead of recognition, encouragement instead of criticism, and love instead of selfish ambition, we reflect the heart of Christ. We must continually ask ourselves: Am I building the team, or am I building myself? Are my words strengthening others? Am I carrying someone else's burden? Am I willing to serve even when no one notices? When we remember that there is an "Us" in Jesus, we stop asking, "What's best for me?" and begin asking, "What's best for the Kingdom?" Together, we become stronger, wiser, and more effective than we could ever be alone. United in Christ, we accomplish far more than any individual ever could. Reflection Questions - How am I contributing to the unity of my family, church, or team? Is pride keeping me from serving others? Who can I encourage or support today?

Prayer - Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us to be part of Your family. Forgive us when we become self-centered or try to accomplish life on our own. Help us to value others, serve with humility, and strengthen the people You have placed around us. Teach us to pursue unity, encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ, and remember that Your Kingdom is always about "us" and “we” and never just about "I" or “me.” May our lives reflect the love and humility of Jesus as we work together for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
