Gods Waiting Room

Gods Waiting Room

Isaiah 40:31 says, "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

No one enjoys waiting. We wait in traffic, in doctor's offices, for job opportunities, for healing, for restored relationships, and for answers to prayers we've prayed for months, or even years. Waiting can feel frustrating because it seems like nothing is happening. But in God's kingdom, waiting is never wasted. Think of God's waiting room as a place of preparation, not punishment. Throughout Scripture, God often worked through seasons of waiting. Joseph waited years before becoming a ruler in Egypt. Moses spent forty years in the wilderness before leading Israel. David was anointed king long before he wore the crown. Even Jesus waited thirty years before beginning His public ministry. In every case, God wasn't delaying His plan, He was developing His people. Our greatest struggle in the waiting room is often trying to force open doors that God has not yet opened. Patience isn't simply sitting still; it's trusting that God's timing is better than our own. Waiting teaches dependence. It builds faith, shapes character and reminds us that God is working behind the scenes even when we cannot see it. Sometimes God says "yes." Sometimes He says "no." But often He says, "Not yet." That "not yet" can become one of the greatest classrooms of our faith. If we rush ahead of God, we may receive something before we're ready to steward it. But when we trust His timing, we discover that He was preparing both the blessing and the person who would receive it. If you find yourself in God's waiting room today, don't lose heart. Keep praying. Keep serving. Keep growing. Keep trusting. God has not forgotten you. His silence is not His absence, and His delay is not His denial. When the waiting is over, you'll often realize that what God accomplished in you was just as important as what He eventually gave to you. So, the two questions we need to ask ourselves are these: What area of our life feels like we're sitting in God's waiting room right now? How might God be developing our character while we're waiting for Him to answer?
